Time

Author’s Note: Today’s prompt was to write a story with a countdown, starting at ten and ending at zero. Well, I tried that. And then I played around with it. And this is the result. I like the idea of time progressing, but you as a reader can decide if it’s been years or months or weeks or days. I just wanted to explore the way relationships can change. In the simplest way.

One.

Hello.

Two.

You’re funny.

Three.

See you around.

Four.

I missed you.

Five.

I like your eyes.

Six.

Let’s have dinner.

Seven.

I’m here for you, always.

Eight.

We’re friends, right?

Nine.

You’ve changed.

Ten.

Goodbye.

One.

Hello.
